The lucky winner’s work will be featured to Theatrum Vitae’s upcoming show “The Path of Aphrodite” in July 2019, and also be eligible to a future paid commission worth €1,000.  Enter the competition by following these

The winning artwork will feature in the upcoming inaugural show “The Path of Aphrodite” in July 2019 and the artist will be commissioned by Theatrum Vitae for a future artwork, worth €1,000. The artist and his/her artwork will be promoted by Theatrum Vitae through various channels (including, but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook and on https://theatrum-vitae.com/)

General
  1. These Terms and Conditions are the Competition rules (“Rules”) and apply to the Path of Aphrodite Competition (“Competition”) by Theatrum Vitae (“Theatrum Vitae”). By entering the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Rules and Theatrum Vitae’s Privacy Policy.
  2. Theatrum Vitae may, acting reasonably and at its sole discretion, apply, interpret, terminate, alter, limit, suspend or modify the Rules at any time, without notice. Any changes will be posted either within these terms and conditions or on our website (https://theatrum-vitae.com).  
  3. In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules or the results and all other matters relating to the Competition, the decisions are final and conclusive.

Entry

  1. By entering this Competition you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Rules.
  2. The Competition is open to all residents of The Republic of Cyprus, 13 years or older, excluding Theatrum Vitae’s employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives. If you are aged under 18 years, Theatrum Vitae assumes (and you warrant) that your parents have given their consent to you entering the Competition and accepting these Rules. Theatrum Vitae reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.
  3. To enter the Competition you must:
  1. Follow Theatrum Vitae on Facebook and Instagram
  2. Share a photo of your piece of art (painting/drawing/picture) on Facebook and/or Instagram using the hashtag #ThePathofAphrodite.
  1. The Competition commences 10:00am EET on December  4th. All submissions must be received by 23:59:59 EET on 31st January 2019 and any submission received after this date will not be considered valid.
  2. The Entrant’s Facebook or Instagram account which hosts the artwork needs to be valid and set in public
  3. Multiple entries are accepted. However, only one prize will be awarded.
  4. If for any reason a technical interruption, fault or site failure occurs, Theatrum Vitae does not take any responsibility for incomplete entries or entries that are not received for any reason.
  5. You may withdraw an entry from the Competition by deleting the entry from your Facebook/Instagram account.
  6. By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete.

Entry Requirements:

  1. No filters which obscure the image should be used (e.g. snapchat filters).
  2. All artwork submitted must be the work of the entrant submitting them, who must be the copyright holder. Entrants must warrant that the artwork they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it. Each entrant is responsible for ensuring any image they submit does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws including any person’s rights of privacy or publicity. By entering into this Competition, the entrant agrees to pay all costs, expenses and losses incurred Theatrum Vitae in relation to any third-party claims concerning intellectual property right (e.g. copyright) infringement.
  3. Copyright in all images submitted for this Competition remains with the respective entrants. By entering this competition, you give Theatrum Vitae the permission to use the artwork submitted for publicity and advertising purposes in any media (including, but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook and on the following website: https://theatrum-vitae.com/ ) and to feature it in its upcoming inaugural show “The Path of Aphrodite” in July 2019.
  4. You must ensure that you mention any other artists that have contributed to the final piece you are submitting.
  5. Theatrum Vitae is not responsible for any expenses incurred in the production and submission of any painting/drawing/picture entered in to the Competition.

Image Content Restrictions

  1. Theatrum Vitae reserves the right not to take into account any painting/drawing/picture which deems in its sole discretion to be inappropriate for the Competition or in any way compromise the integrity and/or reputation of the Competition and/or Theatrum Vitae.
  2. Entries featuring any infringing, threatening, abusive, obscene, pornographic or unlawful content will not be valid.

Winner selection

  1. Theatrum Vitae is looking for the best visual interpretation of Aphrodite the Goddess of Love and Beauty, in a painting/drawing/picture by a young artist.  Each entry will be individually judged based on artistic merit and any other criteria the judging committee deems appropriate.
  2. The winner will be selected by a judging committee comprising Theatrum Vitae founders.
  3. The judges’ decision is final.

Winner announcement

  1. The winner will be announced on February 7th on Theatrum Vitae’s social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram).
  2. The winner will be notified by a direct message to the Instagram/Facebook account by which he/she entered – he/shewill then be requested to provide their name and email address.
  3. The Winner will have 15 days to accept the prize.

Prize

  1. The winner will:
  • Feature his/her winning artwork in the upcoming inaugural show “The Path of Aphrodite” in July 2019
  • Be commissioned for a future artwork for Theatrum Vitae, worth €1,000
  • Be promoted by Theatrum Vitae through various channels (including, but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook and on the following website: https://theatrum-vitae.com/)
  1. Theatrum Vitae reserves the right to forfeit the prize if a winner does not accept the above terms of the agreement
  2. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable.

Jurisdiction

  1. The Competition and Rules will be governed by Cypriot law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cyprus.
